Overall, there are some books and series that I seriously need to at least make a huge dent in this year.
Series:
Vampire Academy
Mortal Instruments
I have no doubt that I'll finish VA. After reading the first two books, I'm hooked. If I had them all right now, I'd be working on those. I might even want to start the Bloodlines series after that. Mortal Instruments, on the other hand, might be a challenge. I've only read book one, but I've heard it gets better, so hopefully it won't be as bad as I think to get through all of those books.
Most Anticipated:
The Darkest Minds
Reboot
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer
...Vampire Academy
Ironically, all of these are what I recently bought. The Darkest Minds I bought last year but never got to, but I'm really excited about that. Reboot I just bought the other day and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer I didn't intend to buy, but teens bestsellers were buy 2, get 1 free and the VA books were under that and I was only missing that...so voila. Free book. I read the plot for it, and realized just how interesting it seemed, so I got it. And, of course, Vampire Academy. Excited to read books three through six. Period.
I guess my list isn't too long this year at all, but that's because most of the books I'm planning on reading so far are in "The Unwanted" list of my other post. No need to re-list them since none of them are really "anticipated." Also, a lot depends on how much I like the new books since they all have other books to accompany them, so if I like them, I'll continue on with the series. If not, then nah.
Main priorities this year are those two series, though. They should suck up PLENTY of time.

The Unwanted
This year I decided to make it my goal to get through the books that have been chilling on my "Not Read" shelf for ages. I decided the best way to tackle them would be by assigning one of them each month, so I can easily surround them with books I'm excited to read so I don't just hate everything.
I pre-selected my book for January because it was logically meant to be read when I could get my hands on the movie.
The Unwanted book for January is The Maze Runner.
I don't know why, but the story just doesn't really pull me in and there always seems to be mixed reviews on it. It's my brother's book, so I never really intended on reading it, but I'm curious about the movie, so I'll be reading it this month.
I randomized the others twice. (Okay, I cheated, but I needed the easiest book to be around finals)
February: Linger
March: Orange is the New Black
April: The Power of Six
May: Triangles
June: Delirium
July: Blue Moon
August: Kings of Cool
September: Twisted
October: Hemlock Grove
November: Collateral
December: Hate List
Some of these books are there for different reasons than others. However, they can easily be broken up into categories: lack of interest, sequel/prequel, or attempted but failed. There's a few outsiders, however.
Lack of interest - Delirium, Twisted, Hate List, and Collateral
Contemporaries just aren't my thing. They just all seemed dull to me, but interesting enough for me to keep.
Sequel/Prequel - Linger, The Power of Six, Blue Moon, Kings of Cool
The problem with these is that I didn't start them right after I read whatever book preceded them (or came after them, in the case of Kings of Cool being a prequel). Now, I don't even remember what the first books for Linger and Blue Moon were about. Hence why I've been avoiding them. Irony that Linger fell first. D:
Attempted but Failed - Orange is the New Black and Triangles
I got decently far into both of these, but just got distracted and gave up on both of them. Extreme avoidance because I didn't feel like starting them over.
That leaves precious Hemlock Grove. I'm mostly just wary about this one because it's not YA, which means it might be a bit harder to get through, and I'm also not very fond of books-to-TV show adaptations. But, don't get me wrong, I am rather excited to read it, but I feel like it might have to be forced through, sadly.
Thankfully, on the second try the order actually worked out quite well. The Power of Six and Triangles took the final months of the Spring semester and Collateral took November. Also, the two I'm probably looking forward to the least, Kings of Cool and Blue Moon took the summer months since I'll have nothing better to do that force myself through them.
I CAN DO THIS.
Maybe.
January TBR
TBR:
Frostbite By: Richelle Mead
Technically, I already finished this the other day, but it WAS on my TBR list for this month.
The Maze Runner By: James Dashner*
I've been avoiding reading this, but I'm determined to get through it this time. I decided to make a list of 12 books I've been avoiding reading but they've all been on my shelf for ages. This is the one for January, although technically I didn't pick it randomly. I just want to get the movie from Netflix before I go back!
The Darkest Minds By: Alexandra Bracken
So excited for this one! I bought it a month or three ago and haven't gotten to it yet because of school. Definitely intending to read it before I go back to Towson.
Possibly Also:
Shadowkiss By: Richelle Mead
Because I want to know what happens...duh.
Unfortunately, I left book 4 in Towson so I can't marathon them, which means I have to read the others first so I don't quickly finish this one and then die waiting to go back for the next.
